District Sports (DS) is a nonprofit soccer league that connects DC-area residents through soccer.
Anyone registering to play with us should recognize that they are joining a recreational adult soccer league. DS reserves the right to dismiss any player who does not conduct themselves within the guidelines of our Player Pledge.
A list of players permanently banned from DS here. Players who engage in any of the following will be subject to suspension or an outright ban:
- violent or threatening behavior.
- verbal or physical abuse of teammates, referees, or spectators.
- General disrespect or disruption of games.
DS offers multiple divisions at various levels of competition. The designations are as follows:
- D1 – Players and teams looking to compete at a high level of play. A good fit for players who have competed in college, in high level amateur leagues, and others who play at an equivalent or higher level.
- D2 – Players and teams who have developed skills and plenty of soccer experience. A good fit for former high school/travel/club players, and others who are confident playing one and two-touch soccer.
- D3 – Players and teams looking for a more recreational game. A good fit for casual players with a focus on fitness and team play. Not intended for competitive players or ringers, even if you prefer the location!
- D4 – Players and teams exclusively looking to have fun through the game of soccer. A good fit for those newer to the sport, as well as experienced players looking for a game which focuses on sportsmanship and camaraderie over winning championships. This is the most casual level of play we offer.
